For the true fan, a boon, for the rest, not so much..
To me, this is a very odd release. There hasn’t been a new C&C product in quite a while, and while I recognize that there is a very dedicated fanbase, I don’t see why these games needed to be “ressurected”. Lets face it, RTS’ come out almost constantly, and the genre has been improved since C&C.
While I too have fond memories of the games, they are best left as memories. These games age well, but they have aged, and better RTS’ are out there now. Frankly, I think that this is just a bit of a money grab by a publisher, and not a real game product at all. That said, if you’re a die hard fan, of course you’ll like this, but for the rest of us C&C is history.

About this game
In 1995, the original Command & Conquer helped define the real-time strategy genre. The franchise then continued to innovate for the next 10 years with cutting-edge visuals, epic storylines, and complex missions. Celebrating the anniversary of this innovative franchise, Command & Conquer The First Decade features a dozen classic C&C games, plus an exclusive bonus DVD of commemorative videos including a rare interview with Louis Castle, co-founder of Westwood Studios and the creator of the Command & Conquer franchise. Whether seeing where it all began with the original Command & Conquer or engaging in modern-day warfare in Command & Conquer Generals, this is a unique opportunity to own a piece of history and experience the past, present, and future of Command & Conquer.
One of the best games to come out in recent years.
As soon as I started to play the game, I realized how good it was. With an incredible number of different classes, civilizations, upgrades, etc., you are immediately taken into an immersive world of wonder. Just in my roughly five hour playing time, I’ve already been extremely impressed; I could go on, and on about all the wonderful aspects of the game. The closest I came to playing a Civilization game was that of Alpha Centauri (another excellent game by the way). They are fairly similair, but Civilization IV is, I feel, even better than AC. I can’t wait to get better, and learn more about the game, then I can move onto the multiplayer aspect of the game, and also do more in the singleplayer aspect of the game. In conclusion, I highly recommend this magnificent game, this blows all other strategy games I have played out of the water. Do yourself a favor and pick this one up right now.
